Renew Driving License From Home: Driving License Renewal: A driving license is one of the most important documents for anyone who drives. As per traffic rules, driving with an expired or invalid license can result in heavy fines and even legal action. In most Indian states, a driving license remains valid for 20 years or until the holder turns 50, whichever comes first. If your DL is nearing expiry or has already expired, the good news is that you can now renew it completely online without visiting the RTO.
What Is the Time Limit for Renewal?
You can apply for renewal before the license expires, and even after expiry, the government gives a grace period of one year.
However, if you fail to renew within this 1-year window, your old license becomes invalid permanently. In such cases, you will have to apply for a new driving license, including the test process again.
